Welcome Cameron

Our very dear friends Dina and Jon welcomed their first daughter Cameron Grace to the world at 8:30 AM on Saturday the 18th of October.  The only disappointing thing about the birth is that it didn't happen 5 days later, in which case I had it on good authority the baby would have been known as Brian or Brianna, oh well, you can't win them all.

We had the good fortune to meet little Cameron today and she is exquisite.  While she didn't do anything more than sleep with the occassional stretch, she is a beautiful baby and well deserved for one of our favourite couples.

As an added bonus they asked Kirsten to be the godmother.  What a special honour for Kirsten, a great thing for Jon and Dina to do, and a very lucky little Cameron indeed to have such a wonderful person to provide guidance throughout her life.

What a weekend, sometimes you don't need to travel very far to have a fantastic adventure or start a wonderful journey.

She's your Queen*

So one of the perks of being a Google employee, in addition to the free food, is getting some pretty cool opportunities such as being part of a Guinness Book of World Records record (you loyal reader have no idea what I'm talking about as it will be revealed in a much delayed-post).

Anyway, yesterday saw the one and only Queen of England grace our glorious hallways to celebrate the partnership YouTube has with the royals as well as some of the various charitable things we apparently collaborate on, never forget, it's all about the kids.

Anyway, she was escorted around the offices in a nice little green get-up while Prince Phillip trailed behind her making beelines down rows of desks to ask (interrogate?) random people what they were doing.  All in all a very amusing and interesting day in the life of this Googler.  Check it our here: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheRoyalChannel

What else can I add to make you forgive me for being so crap at posting?  Hmmm, how about the Sox staving off elimination in an unbelievable comeback last night?  Let's hope they can do it 2 more times.  And my favourite quote is from Bill Simmons about the Jason Bay/Manny Ramirez trade "I can't look at Bay and not think of Manny. At least not yet. Bay is like the dutiful, pretty second wife who does everything right … and yet, I can't stop thinking about the soul-wrenching tramp who married me first and broke my heart. "

And that as Publius would say is all I have to say about that.

Sleep well mes amis.
